What is the most important feature in the "Breakaways" Jeans design?

The most important feature was simply that the CCW Jeans must look completely "normal" from the top of the waistband to the very bottom inseam. If any feature were eye-catching, signaling or telegraphing the CCW capability, our purpose would be defeated.

All over the world, people know the classic denim design made popular by Levi Strauss since 1873. Even though denim jeans are going through a renaissance of stylistic design changes in today, the classic blue jeans design is the best garment for "fitting in" and not "standing out in the crowd."

We also don't put any of our logos on the outside of our products so folks won't know you're pack'n.

In what ways are the CCW Jeans the same as the CCW Khakis and Cargos?

Breakaways Jeans feature two patent-pending sewn-in holster-pockets . . . for right and left hand users. This is the secret to our deep-concealment and faster-than-holster drawing capability.

As in our Khaki and Cargo lines, your firearm carries below the hip line-of-flexure and on your thigh's inside radius in the Jeans as well. Wallets, cell phones, and guns that are carried in everybody else's pants print because those items rest on the outside of a radius and thus create a bulge in the shape of the object.

The enlarged opening for fast weapons deployment is created with our disguised and patent-pending "breakaways" snap-under-the-waistband design. This is the same design that has proven successful in the Khakis and Cargos.

The CCW Jeans are also similar in their ability to carry spare magazines, flash lights, and other accessories via MagSocks.

What are the key tactical attributes when wearing CCW Jeans?

Number one . . . you look normal in carry-mode and you do not look threatening in the pre-withdrawal mode. With your hand in your gun pocket, you are able to pre-stage the gun withdrawal. You have a tactical speed advantage over your adversary because you've established a full gun grip during escalation. If you need to draw, you've eliminated half of the draw stroke cycle time. This is a one-handed draw . . . not two-handed which is typical of all other CCW methods. Your opposing hand and arm can be used for blocking and defending in CQB scenarios.

Number two . . . you can draw from any position . . . stand-up, clinch, seated, or ground-fighting.

How do the CCW Jeans fit?

The CCW Jeans are loose fitting, also called relaxed fit. The pants are intended to provide enough room and mobility for street-fighters to perform full Muay Thai knee strikes with a gun in their front pockets. There is no gun- or holster-pinching at the waistband and groin. Loose fitting clothes enhance concealment and alleviates "gun printing."

There won't be any shrinkage in the Jeans. . . just like our Khakis and Cargos. All of our pants are washed, dried and pressed before packaging. You do not have to plan ahead or allow for future shrinking with our products. These steps cost more to manufacture, but you get what you pay for.

How do the CCW Jeans differ from the CCW Khakis and Cargos?

There are three differences.

First, there is an extra belt loop placed off-center of the belt buckle location. This extra loop was added to carry weight and to prevent "waistline belt-drooping."

The second and third differences go hand-in-hand. Five pocket jeans have distinctive scooping front pocket openings. Scooping pockets reduce the pant's front real estate and it then becomes more difficult to hide stuff (especially guns with longer hand grips). Our Khaki and Cargo pockets extend to the side seams as compared in these photos.

Jeans don't have pleats either, and the pleats in our Khakis and Cargos do make it easier to conceal objects.

Our marketing research and our 'beta' testers overwhelming told us that they do like the distinctive scooping pockets and that they do not want pleats in their jeans. We kept the classic 1873 design to ensure that our "normal-looking" theme stays intact.

While these are favorable characteristics in jeans - it reduces the ability of smaller-waisted guys to carry larger firearms, as they presently can do with our Khakis and Cargos. Remember, the front panel fabric runs all the way to the side seams in Khakis Cargos and this aids in the concealment of larger guns. A firearm's barrel length is not the issue; the overall height of a gun (specifically the length of the hand grip) is the limitation because it spans the width of pant's front panel.

We strongly encourage 32 and 34 inch-waisted gents to purchase and install our Trigger Guard Shield (TGS). The TGS aids in concealment and smooths over any highpoints caused by the hand grip. The photo at right shows a 34" model seated on the bed of a pickup truck wearing a TGS and concealing a Taurus 709.

What is a TGS and how do you install one?

CCW Breakaways TGS, or Trigger Guard Shield, is a 0.010" punch-cut shape of 6/6 Nylon. The TGS serves two purposes. First, it provides another layer of trigger guard protection for ground fighters on striker-fired receivers without mechanical safety selectors. Second, it provides shielding and smooths over irregular shapes in the holster-pockets.

The TGS slides into a sleeve which is positioned in this location inside the pant. Turn the Jeans inside-out to reveal the sleeve and insert the TGS as shown below.
