How do the CCW Jeans differ from the CCW Khakis and Cargos?
There are three differences.
First, there is an extra belt loop placed
off-center of the belt buckle location. This extra loop was
added to carry weight and to prevent "waistline
belt-drooping."
The second and third differences go
hand-in-hand. Five pocket jeans have distinctive scooping
front pocket openings. Scooping pockets reduce the pant's
front real estate and it then becomes more difficult to hide
stuff (especially guns with longer hand grips). Our Khaki
and Cargo pockets extend to the side seams as compared in
these photos.
Jeans don't have pleats either, and the
pleats in our Khakis and Cargos do make it easier to conceal
objects.
Our marketing research and our 'beta'
testers overwhelming told us that they do like the
distinctive scooping pockets and that they do not want
pleats in their jeans. We kept the classic 1873 design to
ensure that our "normal-looking" theme stays intact.
While these are favorable characteristics
in jeans - it reduces the ability of smaller-waisted guys to
carry larger firearms, as they presently can do with our
Khakis and Cargos. Remember, the front panel fabric runs
all the way to the side seams in Khakis Cargos and this
aids in the concealment of larger guns. A firearm's barrel
length is not the issue; the overall height of a gun
(specifically the length of the hand grip) is the limitation
because it spans the width of pant's front panel.
We strongly encourage 32 and 34 inch-waisted
gents to purchase and install our Trigger Guard Shield
(TGS). The TGS aids in concealment and smooths over any
highpoints caused by the hand grip. The photo at right shows a
34" model seated on the bed of a pickup truck wearing a TGS
and concealing a Taurus 709.
